The chart provided represents the proportion of the area of land influenced by desertification in three different places between 1990 and 2010.
In general, Sub-Saharan Africa owned the largest percentage of land that is desertified comparing to the other three places. On the other hand, Europe has the least portion of land affected by desertification. Australia is the only region that has a decline in land influenced by desertifcication, while the other places all experienced a rise.
To look into the data in details, Australia, the only nation that has fewer land affected by desertification, experience a decline from about 14% in 1990 to about 13% in 2010. In contrast, North America, Europe, and Sub-Saharan Africa all have a rise in the percentage of land which is affected by desertification. In North America, the percentage increases from about 12% in 1990, to about 15%, while in Europe, the portion rises from about 10% in 1990, to about 11% in 2010. Furthermore, Sub-Saharan Africa experience an sharp increase, from approximately 25% in 1990, to aboubt 32% in 2010, which is the greatest change.
