The bar chart demonstrates the proportion of male and female teachers in six different kinds of educational settings in the UK in 2010. Overall, the biggest difference between the percentages of two genders could be seen in pre-school education.
In nursery, the percentage of women was nearly 100%, whereas men accounted for an insignificant figure, around 5%. A similar educational setting was witnessed in primary school, where around 90% of female teachers, and only 10% of male educators. The figure between two genders became more balanced, women slightly outnumber men, with around 55% and 45%. Colleges show a similar proportion of male and female teachers which were both contributing 50%.
The amount of men who taught in private training institute was higher than women, with almost 60% and 40% respectively. The percentage of male teachers was occupied about 70%, which was the highest data recorded and two times higher than the figure of female educators.
