Overall, classical concerts were the least popular type of event among all age groups, except for the age group over 55, who even watched the popular concert was lower. The three youngest age groups between 15 and 44 witnessed the highest percentage of popular concerts, whereas older people were interested in opera concerts.
Popular concerts were attended by those aged between 15 and 44, especially the 15-24 group, with the highest figure of 38%. This was higher than the 25-34 and 35-44 groups, at around 27% and 33% respectively. However, in older age groups, the percentage dropped significantly, making popular concerts less popular than other types, particularly among those aged 45 and over.
Opera concerts were most popular among people aged 35 and above. The percentage was around 15% for those aged 45-54, which was the same as aged over 55. These figures were much higher than those of younger groups, which were only about 13%.
Classical concerts were generally the least popular for most age groups, except the eldest one, for whom the attendance rate was 8%, which was comparable to that of the 25 – 34 bracket. Participation levels in other age groups were slightly higher, at around 10%.
