This figure rose constantly till 2017, and the difference between the number of people applied for the visa and its approval increased until 2019, reaching around 35,000 and 28,000, respectively.
However, in 2000, a sudden plunge in the numbers was noticable; the number of people applied for the visa declined to 9,000, whereas only 500 applicants received a rejection. Nevertheless, the figures increased marginally in 2021, and a significant surge appeared in thee year 2022. In 2022, the number of applicants were 40,000, out of which approximately 8,000 faced rejection and 33,000 candidates received an approval. In 2024, the number of candidates applied for the visa soared to 60,000, with 50,000 approvals and 10,000 rejections.
