The bar chart provides information about the percentages of GDP from IT and Service Industry in the U.K. between 1992 and 2000.
Overall, it can be seen that both increased as the percentage of GDP, but IT followed a sharp increase unlike Services.
In 1992, the Service Industry started with its the lowest rate of 4% and within 2 years it rose to around 2.5% and reached 6.5%. After the year 1994, growth speed decreased and by the year 1996 it was approximately 7% of GDP and keep increasing slightly. By the end of the period, it made up more than 8%, which is the highest point of service industry percentage.
However, the IT industry’s percentage followed a similar but sharper trend. Just as service industry, in 1992 the percentage of IT industry started roughly 6.2%, which is the low point of IT and grew to approximately 8.1% in 1994. Subsequently it decreased slightly and fell around 7% in 1996. After that year it increased sharply and reached the highest point to roughly 15%.
