It is clear that the rate of news viewership at 6 p.m. declined gradually; meanwhile, the 9:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. news experienced changes and showed the opposite trends. In addition, throughout most of the period, the 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. viewership were the lowest and highest, respectively.
The figure for the 1 p.m. news remained fairly stable, at approximately 1.3 million viewers throughout the year. The figure for 6 p.m. news started at around 4.8 million viewers. It fluctuated, but in general, it showed a downward trend, and it ended the year at nearly 3.3 million.
The figure for 9:30 p.m. news increased slightly from 3.2 million in January to a peak of 3.8 million in May. At the same time, the 11 p.m. news was introduced, and it grew rapidly to hit a peak of nearly 4.1 million viewers in August; meanwhile, the figure for 9:30 p.m. news hit a low of around 1.2 million at the same time. From August onward, the figure for 9:30 p.m. news increased gradually to 3 million at the end of the period. By contrast, the figure for 11 p.m. dropped dramatically to nearly 1 million in December.
