Overall, expenditure on Food and Drinks initially recorded the highest figure before declining moderately in 2005, whereas that on Housing was the second-largest category in 1995, after which it rose sharply , overtaking other categories to become the most common services.Meanwhile, Transport increased slightly over the period, in contrast to the downward trend of Other Goods and Services.
Looking at the most dominant categories, Food and Drinks accounted for the largest proportion , at around 32% in 1995, while the percentage of Housing was slightly lower than that of Food and Drinks at 26%. Then, the figure for Food and Drinks fell sharply to just below 25% in 1995, whereas Housing experienced substantial growth to a peak of about 34%, surpassing other goods and services in 2005.
As for the remaining categories, Other goods and Services recorded a higher figure than Transport, at 25% and 15% in 1995, respectively.Afterwards, the proportion of Other Goods and Services dropped slightly to 23% in 2005.At the same time, Transport increased steadily to just below 20% in 2005, remaining the smallest services.
