The pie charts above compare the percentage of citizens’ age of Italy and Yemen between 2000 and 2050. Specifically, people are clustered in three age groups: 0-14 years, 15-59 years and 60+ years.
Overall, the Yemen’s population is younger than that of Italy. It is also clear from the diagram that the percentages are expected to change in the future. Specifically, both populations are projocted to getting older than in the past years.
Concerning Yemen, the charts demonstrate that the percentage of younger citizens will dramatically decrease from about 50% in 2000 to exactly 37% in 2050. On the contrary, people in the age of 15-59 are predicted to improve in the future – from slightly more 46% to exceed 57%. Also people with more than 60 years will increase, even if slower than the previous group – from 3.6% to 5.7%.
The Italian population, instead, will undergo to a critical reduction of people in the 15-59 age category, as the percentage was more than 60% in 2000, and will fall to slightly above 46%. On the contrary, there will be a climb of the 60+-year-olders citizens, who will rise from 24.1% to 42.3%. Finally, the percentage of young people is expected to decrease a little in the future, passing from 14.3% to 11.5%.
