Overall, Italy had older population than Yemen in 2000, the same is predicted for 2050. In addition, it is expected that the populations of both countries will be older by 2050.

In 2000, over half of population in Yemen were aged 14 or under, while the figure for age group from 15 to 59 was slightly lower, at 46,3%, and people who aged 60 or over were 3.6%. Italy saw a bit different pattern. There was only 14.3% children, while the percentages of age group from 15 to 59 and 60 or over were 61,6% and 24,1%, respectively.
