The pie charts provide information on the ages of the population of two different countries (Yemen and Italy) in 2000 and 2050.
In general, the data suggests that the percentage of the population of all age groups increased with time, except for the 0-14 year olds in Yemen. Whereas, only the old age group population had increased in Italy.
In 2000, the proportion of the population for the youngest age group was higher in Yemen than that of Italy, with 50.1% and 14.3% respectively. However, in Yemen, the percentage of the population for old and middle age groups was much lower than Italy. In the case of the old age group, the proportion of the population in Italy (24.1%) was more than tripled from Yemen (3.6%). Likewise, the proportion of the population for the middle age group in Italy was 61.6%, which was much higher than that of Yemen with 50.1%.
By 2050, the percentage of the population for over 60-year-old people in Yemen will be more than halved from that of Italy by 42.3%. Whereas, the total share for the population of the youngest and middle age groups in Yemen was much higher than that of Italy, with 37.0%, 57.3% and 11.5%, 46.2% respectively.
