Overall, it can be seen that Yemen’s generation is much younger than that of Italy, and will stay so by 2050. Additionally, the population of Italy was older and will age further.
In terms of Yemen, children constitute half of the population,followed by 15-59 years with 46.3%, and 60+ years with 3.6% in 2000. However, it is estimated that 15-59 years will surpass 0-14 years with 57.3% in 2050. The proportion of older people will be the lowest again.
Regarding Italy, it is obvious that they have ageing population with just 14.3% aged 0-14 years, 24.1% aged 60+ years, and 61.6% aged 15-59 years. Subsequently, the forecast shows that 15-59 years and 60+ years will be equal for 46.2% and 42.3% respectively. In contrats, the percentage of children will drop to 11.5%.
