The pie charts illustrate the percentage of energy production manufactured by oil, natural gas, coal, nuclear, hydro, and “other renewable” resources in one country in the years 1985 and 2003.
Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the production of energy by oil, and nuclear resources witnessed a reduction while the proportion of natural gas, coal, and other renewable resources in the energy production was seen a growth. The percentage of oil was dominant in both years.
In 1985, figures for oil and nuclear sources in energy production respectively stood at 52% and 22 %. By 2003, the former decreased to 39%, the latter experienced a significant diminish to 8 %.
By contrast, although the percentage of natural gas was 13%, coal 8%, and other renewable resources 1% in 1985, after the significant rise (in 2003) the proportion changed in turn to 23%, 22%, and 4%. Only the proportion of hydro sources remained stable at 4 % in both years.
