The given line graphs represents the percentage of households using electronic machines and also how it affected the time people consumed doing the housework from the year 1920 to 2019 in a particular country.
Overall, we can clearly see in the graph that as the proportion of houses owning electronic appliances grew, the number of hours people spent on doing housework decreased significantly on the given time period.
On the one hand, the graph shows that 30% and 40% residents owned vacuum cleaners and washing machines respectively whereas, only around 1% of houses owned refrigerators in 1920. The percentage of houses that owned all the three machines grew over the course of time. By 2019, 100% of people owned both refrigerators and vacuum cleaners whereas the proportion of houses owning washing machines was above 70%.
On the other hand, due to the rise in people owning machine to ease the work in the house, the number of hours people spent on home doing chores decreased from 50 hours per week in 1920 to around 10 hours per week in 2019.
