The pie charts compare the proportions of volunteers allocated by organizations to six different sectors in two years 2008 and 2014.
Overall, there were reversed tendencies among the areas, in which Education, Art, and others showed decreases, while upward trends can be witnessed in Sport, Environment, and Healthcare.
In 2008, volunteers for the educational and environmental sectors respectively accounted for approximately one-fourth and one-fifth, representing two highest figures at the time. Afterwards, the percentage of environmental protection grew by 8% to 29%, becoming the sector that organizations focused the most 6 years later. On the contrary, that of education saw a downward trend, decreasing to 17% in 2014.
There were similar trends in art and others, with the former falling from 18% to 12% and the latter from 15% to 9%. In contrast, the proportion of sport increased significantly from 15% in 2008 to exactly one-fourth in 2014, one of the highest figures in that year. Regarding healthcare, this is the only area to witness no remarkable change throughout the period, stabilizing at around 8%.
