The two diagrams present data on three categories of police reports in Johnstown for 2016 and the city’s average monthly temperature over the same period. The first chart records reports of theft, noise complaints, and traffic violations, while the second illustrates fluctuations in temperature throughout the year.
Overall, traffic violations were consistently the most frequently reported offence, peaking at nearly 200 cases in one quarter. Theft reports remained relatively low except for a marked increase in the July-September period, whereas noise complaints showed minimal variation. Meanwhile, temperatures rose steadily to a peak in July before declining towards the year’s end.
In detail, traffic violations started at around 175 cases in the first quarter, followed by a slight decline in the middle of the year, and then recovered to roughly the same level by the final quarter. Theft cases remained below 50 in most quarters but experienced a sharp rise in the July-September period, reaching just under 150 incidents, before falling back towards initial levels. Noise complaints, in contrast, fluctuated only marginally, ranging from about 25 to 50 cases throughout the year.
As for temperature, figures began at approximately 8°C in January, climbing gradually until reaching a high of roughly 28°C in July. This was followed by a steady decline, with temperatures falling to around 10°C by November. The peak in theft reports during the third quarter coincided with the highest temperatures of the year, whereas traffic violations remained high regardless of seasonal changes.
