The diagram presents the production method of ethanol fuel from corn. Overall, there are five main stages in the production of ethanol by first milling the corn, then cooking and fermenting it, which is then separated and purified for storage and transportation.
The first step in the production is to grow and harvest corn. The corn will then be stored in in storage facilities and after which the milling process will be performed by workers. Subsequent to the procedure, they will be cooked under heat with water for four hours. This is followed by two-day fermentation process before the machinery carries out separation. The separation process aims to filter the two types of substance, namely the liquid and solid by-product.
The liquid will become ethanol after 5 hours of purification under specialised equipment. This resulted purified ethanol will be stored in containers and later being transported to different purchasers and contractors for the purpose of manufacturing.
