The diagram shows the recycling process of glass. The process is circular and has six main stages involving a variety of different machinery.
Firstly the glass is seperated from household rubbish in recycling bins and it is collected by a refuse lorry and taken to a plant where it is treated and recycled. After being delivered to the plant the glass needs to be washed and sterilised in order for it to be remade into new products.
Once the bottles have been thorough cleaned they are sent to a machine where they are crushed and melted. This molten glass can then be reshaped into new glass bottles. These bottles are then filled and delivered to the supermarket ready to be sold. The process can then be repeated itself all over again.
Overall, we can see there is no limit to how many times glass can be recycled and reused.
