In this modern era, it’s very common to see advertisements such as commercials between TV shows, huge signs on the side of buildings, or pop-up texts on our phones or computers. As a result, we are now living in a society that is filled with a bunch of information we don’t need. Some say the reason for this is its effect on buyers, but others argue that it is too much for us to care about.
It is true that companies have gotten smarter when it comes to how they get the word out. They know our attention is scattered throughout the multiple information we get, so the promotion strategy has changed. This means they use creative ways to focus our awareness, as well as deliver the messages in a more fun and entertaining way. This is good, as many shoppers now buy things they don’t even want. Just the other day, I saw a good video about apartments that made me want to use the services, even though I am happy with the place I already live in. The crazy part was I didn’t even notice it was an advertisement. This is also why they are starting to hide their intentions.
However, no matter how much businesses evolve the publicity tactics, there is still a chance that the public gets tired of it. There are a lot of products that come out daily, and most of them get promoted. Consequently, we start to care less and less every day, and at some point, it will all look the same to us. Then, they are going to stop being interested in these ads. So, these and many other reasons suggest that promotional materials should be minimized and regulated. If it’s not, it will lead to a situation where it has no effect on consumers
