Overall, the process involves ten steps, divided into two main parts: producing paper from raw timber and recycling used newspaper.
The manufacturing process commences when trees are cut down. Then, they are put in a machine to remove bark. After that, the debarked logs are delivered to a crushing machine, becoming the wood chippings. These chips are subsequently pulped to prepare for the pressing stage. At this stage, the mixture is flattened into a thin layer. Consequently, the pressed sheets are rolled and used to print newspapers.
In terms of the recycling procedure, used newspapers are collected and transferred to the recycling factory. In this place, workers will use a washing machine to remove ink. Once this stage is done, purified paper is repulped, which can be reintegrated into the initial production cycle.
