The diagram above illustrates the mechanism by which solar panels can provide electricity for domestic use. This process is divided into five distinct phases, utilizing five different mechanical equipment to produce power.
Firstly, panels installed on rooftops absorb solar energy and turn it into DC current. However, the current used in households is mainly an AC current, thereby an inverter converts and controls this electricty produced.
Moreover, these currents pass onto a device installed on the side of the house called an electrical panel. This panel distributes the electricity to homes.
Furthermore, sometimes excess power is produced using the sun. Instead of wasting it, a system of two devices was mechanized these include a utility meter and a utility grid which work hand in hand to help conserve the solar energy.
The excess solar power flows to the grid through the meter, on a cloudy day when not enough energy is produced, the grid provides energy that helps sustain power in the household.
