The process diagram illustrates the steps involved in nuclear power production using uranium.
It is clear that, the pross of power generation consists of six distinctive stages starting from mineral mining until the disposing of useless fuel.
T the first stage of production, uranium is mined from the earth by using designated excavation machines. Next, U-235 fuel pellets are made by converting and enriching the uranium ore. After that, the pellets are used as fuel to power generators and hence, producing electricity.
Four years later, fuel is removed after being spent. Then, some of the spent fuel is run into a special reprocessing treatment so that it can be reused again for electricity generation .So, the processed fuel is reintroduced to the power generators again to be used for generating electricity. At the final step of production, the rest of the spent fuel, which can not be treated for reuse is stored in containers before it is finally buried.
