The diagram illustrates the process of using uranium when producing nuclear power. It contains six steps stating from mining uranium from the ground and finising at the process of dealing with spent fuel.
The first step is to mine uranium from the earth. Following this, to make U-235 fuel pellets, coverting and enriching uranium ore is conducted. After this process, U-235 fuel is used to move generators for making electricity. Following that, fuel used in the third process will be spent and be removed after the four-year period.
In the five step, parts of spent fuel will be re-processed and reused. In this aspect, some fuel will repeat the third and the fourth processes. On the other hand, as the step 6, some fuel in the step 4 will be stocked in containers and then buried without reprocessing in the step five. If spent fuel that repeats the processes between third and fourth can no longer be used, they will finish the role to produce nuclear power.
