The diagram which is given below depicts how the material uranium is utilised for the generation of nuclear energy.
Overall , the diagram is a linear process and is not cyclical , since it does not repeat and is not a natural process. Also , the uranium is extracted from the earth and then are converted to pellets which helps in generating electricity , and approximately after 4 years the fuel is exhausted and in the end stages , some fuels can be re processed and used and the radioactive wastes are dumped.
In the first stage , Uranium is extracted from the surface of the earth using a mining machine or an equipment . In the second stage , the uranium which has been extracted is transformed into U-235 fuel pills , these pills are important as it is used to generate electricity. In the third stage electricity is generated using U-235 pellets in a power plant.
Onto the fourth stage , approximately after four years the fuel gets spent and is exhausted. Some of the fuel which has been spent can be processed and used again. Lastly , the waste materials which are of no use are stored in a container and are buried.
