The pictures show how Shakefield has changed following its redevelopment since 1995. Overall, the site has undergone substantial modifications, characterized by the expansion of housing areas, and the establishment of recreational facilities, indicating a shift towards a more visitor-friendly coastal destination.
On the north side of the town, the cluster of housing to the west of this part has expanded significantly, to the south of which is now a row of sports centres, where the restaurant complex had been earlier. The central area has also experienced radical alterations, with the hotels upgraded into two-storey buildings, and the public park demolished to facilitate the construction of holiday homes and a car park. There has also been a redevelopment in the northeastern corner of the town, where the establishment of a recreational hub has occupied the former space for farming.
The southern part of the site has also undergone considerable redevelopments. There used to be a fish market in the western part of this site, but it has been replaced with an apartment complex, which is accompanied by the disappearance of the morning fish boats near the coastline. Meanwhile, a small road leading to the coffee has been constructed, which necessitates the eastward relocation of this shop. Another notable change is that upon entering the eastern part of the beach nowadays, visitors and locals alike would have access to newly added yachts.
