The figure illustrates the various stages in the life of a honey bee. It can be seen that there are 6 main stages in the development of a honey bee. It is easily noticeable that the honey bee life cycle lasts betwwn 34 and 36 days.
The life of a honey bee begins when the female lays one or two eggs every three days. after nine or ten days the eggs hatch. An immature bee sheds its nymph moults 3 times. This period lasts from five days after hatching to nine days. it is also clear that the size of a honey bee changes.
it can be seen from the figure that during the fifth stage a young adult bee gets its stripes, and after 4 days it transforms to a fully mature bee. The mature honey bee is then ready to lay eggs and the cycle starts once again.
