The diagram illustrates process of manufacturing sugar from sugar cane. Overall, the process has seven different stages which can be divide in two set of stages: stages of cultivation and stages of mechanical processing of sugar cane.
In the first set of stages, sugar cane is sown and grown until it reaches the age of at least 12 and at most 18 mounts. After that period of time, the plants can be harvested either by machines or manually by laborer. Being harvested, the sugar cane is sent to further processing with the machine’s.
The second set of stages begins with processing of the sugar cane with a crushing machine that presses and crushes sugar cane plants to extract the juice. After that, the juice is filtered through limestone filter in order to produce purifying juice. Next, juice thus obtained is placed in evaporator where it is heated. In this stage of the manufacturing process, the juice turns into syrup. In order to separate sugar crystals from it, the syrup is putted in centrifuge. In the last stage, the product of sugar is dried and cooled.
