The figure illustrates the procedure of extracting sugar from sugar cane in details.
This process consists of seven stages beginning from growing sugar canes and ending with drying and cooling the created product.
The first step to create sugar is to grow the necessary plant which is sugar canes and takes 12 to 18 months. The second step is harvesting these plants and can be done either by hand or mechanical machines. then the juice of these sugar canes is drawn by going through a crushing machine. In the fourth stage, the juice is purified by lime stone filter.
In the next stage, the purified juice is heated by an evaporator. This causes the juice to become syrup and ready for the next step. Then a centrifuge is used to separate the sugar crystals from the syrup by fast rotation. In the last stage, the sugar needs to get cold and dry in containers.
