The diagram illustrates how plastic bottles are recycled.
As seen on the diagram, there are nine steps to turn trash into a new product, starting from the trash can to a raw material, and then, to new products.
The process starts from putting the plastic bottles into the trash can. Then, the sanitation truck collects the waste and send them to the recycling centre. After distributing the waste to the recycling plant, the workers sort the miscellaneous waste out. Next, the sorted bottles are compressed into blocks. In the next stage, a number of machine crush the blocks of the sorted plastics and turn them into pieces. Prior to create a new product from the trash, there is a washing process that the plastic pieces need to undergo.
Furthermore, they put the plastic chunks into the processor that turns them into plastic pellets. The next step is to heat the pellets to change its form as a raw material. Finally, from the raw material, the manufacturer can produce new products such as paper, t-shirts, and other recycled products.
