The process cycle depicts the steps that are taken in the production of food in the United States.
It is a linear five-step process that starts with producing raw materials and ends with serving food at home, in restaurants, and buffets.
Firstly, the raw materials are collected from various sources, including farms and seas, such as vegetables, livestock, and fish. Once the production is done, this unprocessed food is sent for processing and quality checks before being transported for distribution in other areas. Once processed, factory workers transport processed food onto trucks to distribute to restaurants and retail shops where consumers are ready to have it.
Finally, after being distributed in food service facilities such as restaurants and retail stores, food can be used at home where it is properly cooked for family consumption, and processed food is ready to be served by chefs by making different meals in dinners or buffets.
