The given figure depicts the sequential steps involved in the book publishing process. It consists of nine different stages, spanning over a period of approximately 18-24 months.
Overall, the stages include writing a book, sending it to the publishing house, thorough study by editors, making a contract with the publishing house, layout designing, final decision on layout, printing, binding and the last step is distribution to bookshops.
At the initial stage, the writing part is produced by the author in which the script of the book is drafted, which is sent to the publishing house where the manuscript is evaluated by editors and a contract is negotiated with the publishing house. Moreover, the design of the layout is created and then it is concluded with the ultimate decision on the layout.
Thereafter, the finalized product is printed to produce a book. Those printed pages are bound into the final product, which is then distributed bookshops.
