The schemes demostrate the plans of Liverton docks in 1980 and today, revealing some alterations in the layout and allocation of space.
Overall, it can be seen that Liverton docks expanded their offerings to include a wider range of services. While this place was an industrial sector in 1980, it has become a residential area in recent years.
Regarding the North part of the area, it consisted of two warehouses at opposite wings of the Liverton docks, which have been reconstructed as an education center and kid’s playing area after several decades. The crane adjecent to them has been removed and a brand new sailing club has been constructed. Four ships that transmitted goods through the river have been eliminated to built a ship museum for tourists.
In terms of the South part of the Liverton docks, a bridge has been introduced to the local area in order to create a link between two coasts. A river walk has been added alongside the river in front of the three new amenities. After the second crane has been removed, a new hotel has been built at the South-West corner of the area. A warehouse has been converted into apartments with a new parking area East to the accomodations. Finally, a floods barrier has occupied the space at the East part of the Liverton docks.
