The rainwater is the primary source of the drinking water in an Autralian city.Overall, the process consists of a multi-stage system that begins with rainwater harvesting from residential rooftops and concludes with the delivery of purified drinking back to households.
Initially, preciption falls onto the roofs of houses and flows into designated gutters and drains. The collected rain water is then channelled into an underground network of interconnecting pipes. These pipes direct runoff throught a specialized water filter to remove solid debris and impurities before the liquid enters a large storage vessel.
From the storage unit, the water is pumped into a water treatment container. At this stage chemicals are added to disinfect the water and eliminate any remaining bacteria or harmful pathogens.Once the chemical process is complete, the potable water is pumped through a separate pipe system back to the residencial properties, making it safe for human consumption
