The figure illustrates the process of assembling leather goods. The process consists of eleven steps, which can be grouped into three main stages, beginning with the transportation to the factory, followed by the preparation and production of the material, and ending with the offering of the ready product to the general public.
In the initial stage, animal skins are dried. Subsequently, the dried skins are transferred to the factory where they are washed with water and lime. Following this, the material is soaked in lime and then flattened by large rollers in specialized equipment.
In the next phase, the flattened pelts are soaked a second time, but now in tannin mixed with water and vegetable matter for some time. After soaking, the leather is polished on the surface. Consequently, the processed leather is then transported by truck to another factory where specific items are manufactured. Finally, the ready commodities made from leather are available for consumers to purchase.
