The given process diagram illustrates the production of electricity using geothermal energy.
Overall, it is evident that there are five stages in the production of electricity ,which begins with pumping down of cold water and ends with production of electricity by the generator.
Firstly, cold water is pumped down into the injection well, which is about 4.5 kilometres deep from the surface of the earth.Then , the water from the well is passed through the geothermal zone, which is made of hot rocks. The resultant hot water produced is then directed into the production well.
In the third stage of the process, hot water from the well is pumped up to the condenser situated at the surface level,where water is converted into steam. After that, the power of the steam is used to rotate the turbine.In the final stage of the process, electricity is produced by the generator using the energy of the turbine.
