The pie charts illustrates the usage of energy by Australian households and percentage of greenhouse gasses emitted as a result of their usage, respectively.
Overall, it can be observed that highest amount of energy is used for heating while, the lowest is used for cooling. Due to which, most of the harmful gas is formed by heating up of water and least by cooling.
Around forty percent of energy is used for heating while, thirty percent of energy is consumed for heating up of water. The refrigeration accounts for about 10% of power usage whereas, lighting and cooling for less than 5%. All other appliances together consumed fifteen percent of the energy.
The greenhouse gas is emitted because of the energy consumed by the households. Around 30% of which is caused by heating of water and the least by cooling which, adds only 3% of gas. Both refrigeration and heating leaves approximately 15% of harmful gas while one- forth of theses gasses comes due to the usage of all other appliances. The lightning emits 8% of greenhouse gas in the environment.
