Overall, there are four factors evolving because of deforestation, with two main consequences developing. The factors include equipment’s detrimental influence on the soil, which ends with flooding, impact on roots, air condition, and burning that subsequently leads to a drop in biodiversity level .
By utilizing heavy logging machines that compress the soil, it in turn becomes pressed down and ‘baked’. This results in rainwater running off and causing flooding because the soil is not able to absorb it. Another case with an involvement of moisture is plants returning less of it to the air; thus, less precipitation and a rise in dry conditions evolves, which is a reason why pioneer species move in and greens degrade.
Additionally, by cutting down the forests, fewer roots can hold the topsoil in, which is why it erodes, causing the same consequences of less biodiversity. Also, deforestation creates an increased risk of burning deliberately or accidentally, with plants becoming more vulnerable to the sunlight and being destroyed. The destroyed wood waste is one of the microorganisms’ food sources, so it concludes with lessened biodiversity also.
