The given line graph provides persentage of Canadian High School students who are studying 5 different languages, namely French, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, German and others, for the period of eight years.
Overall, it can been seen that all the languages had fluctuated for the whole period. However, French was the most popular language and it maintained it’s position throughout the period. In contrast, Chinese was the lowest in the beginning, while German had a significant impact at the beginning and then dropped dramatically, becoming the least among all languages.
Firstly, French had a dramatic increase between 2006 and 2008. Then, it had been fluctuating for six years, and in 2014, it maintained it’s initial point. Japanese was one of the most popular language in the beginning accounting for about 30%, however it sharply declined contineously until to the end of the period, at about 20%. Spanish was a little above 20% at the beginning, finishing at about 25%
Secondly, German was a little lower than 15 percent, and declined constantly until it became the least studying language. Chinese was the least popular, and fluctuated for 4 years, however it boosted significantly by 2014. Other languages was at a little above 5 percent, and had significant fluctuations until 2012, then sharply increased to about 15 percent, however it declined to a little above 10% by 2014
