Globally, the consumption of water has always been steep risen in field of agriculture, approximately 500 per cubic kilometer, than in domestic and industrial usage since 1900. The water usage doubled in agriculture sector after 50 years in 1950, while utilization in household and industries increased slightly. From 1950, there was a sharp rise in water consumption in agriculture sector, of about 3000km per cube in year 2000, whereas, in production sector and residential system, water usage was roughly 1000km per cube and 400km per cube respectively.
As can be seen vividly in table data, in year 2000, per capita water consumption of Brazil is 359 cubic meter, which is far higher than in Democratic Republic of Congo; 8 cubic meter. The Brazil had 176 million population and 26,500 km square irrigated land in 2000. However, Democratic Republic of Congo had 5.2 million and 100 per square kilometer irrigated land.
