The given graph shows not only how figures for energy produced and consumed in the US varied over a period of 50 years starting from 1950, but also provides predictions for the last 25 years examined.
Overall, the amount of energy consumed in the US took the lead throughout the surveyed period while production activity fluctuated with lower figures for units recorded. Additionally, both will experience upward trend in 2000 onwards.
As can be seen, from the year 1975 to 2000, the number of consumed energy units peaked at approximately 85 units which was 25 units higher when compared to the highest point of produced energy. Moreover, figures for both produced and used levels nearly tied with each other at 25 units at the starting year. The two surveyed objects all recorded slight drops in a few years after 1975.
According to the graph, from 2000 to 2025, there will be projections that are going to create considerable rises in both the production and consumption of energy with 145 and 85 units respectively.
