In 1995, France received over 70 million tourists, which increased to more than 90 million by 2010. The number of arrivals in the United States increased steadily, from around 20 million in 1995 to slightly more than 30 million by 2010. Malaysia had tremendous growth in arrivals, from around 20 million to more than 50 million within the same time period.
On the other hand, Egypt had around 10 million immigrants in 1995, compared to almost 20 million in 2010. In comparison, Brazilian tourist arrivals remained stable at roughly 10 million between 1995 and 2010. It is worth noting that, while Egypt and Brazil had equal tourist numbers in 1995, Egypt’s numbers far exceeded Brazil’s by 2010.
