In 1960, Agriculture and retail sectors’ employees were equal at around 6 million, retail industry jobs were continuously increasing, whereas, agriculture saw a plummet between 1960 and 1980.
In the beginning of the interval, Manufacturing sector had the highest numbers of employees, about 15 million worker, and the numbers constanly rose for about 20 years, however, in 1980 the sectors’ employees numbers started to fall and it remained shrinking through the period. As for the health care professionals, initially, the amount of health care practitioners were the lowest of all sectors at less than 5 million jobs, then in 1980 it surged to more than 10 million occupations in health industry.
