The typical Japanese office, in order to increase teamwork, arrange desks close to each other which are splitted to two teams, each team having six seats for workers and one for section manager on those six seats. In contrast, American offices prioritizes privacy by dispersing seats across eight distinct areas for workers.
Moreover, It can be witnessed that there is a world of differences from other amenities as well. In the Japanese office where there is a chair outside, having just one position for windows right behind the department manager’s chair which is situated at the back of the working area to control the whole office easily. Conversely, typical American office is equipped with full of facilities such as printer copier, storage and two conference rooms are located to the left of the worker’s seat. In addition, the section and department manager are to the right of the working spaces, next to the windows. This office, in order to bring a comfortable atmosphere to workers, installed two windows on both sides.
