Overall, the price of Gold has stayed relatively stable over the years, whereas the rate of Platinum has steadily decreased. The price of Palladium on the other hand has risen significantly, and it went from being the least valuable of the three metals to the most expensive one.
The closing price of gold fluctuated between around $1100 and $1500 per oz. between 2013 and 2019 before it surged to around $1800 per oz. in 2020. It remained at that same level in 2021. The price of Platinum gradually decreased from $1500 per oz in 2013 to just under $1000 per oz. in 2020 and it has only slightly risen in the following year.
Palladium started out with a closing price of approximately $750 per oz. in 2013 with minor fluctuations in the next three years. However it experienced a significant rise from 2016 to 2020 with closing rates going up from around $600 per oz. to just around $2100 per oz. with a further increase in 2021 when the price was at almost $2400 per oz.
