Overall, the worth of 1 ounce of palladium and gold increased steadily in contrast to platinum’s closing price that decreased over the period. However, platinum relatively had the highest price at the start of the period.
The average closing price of palladium begins around 750 dollars per ounce in 2013. Although it fluctuates around this price from 2013 to 2016, by 2017 it rises steadily annually to later peak just below 2,500 dollars per ounce by 2021. Gold follows similar trend wherein it starts at around 1500 dollars, then ranged around 1,250 dollars from 2014 to 2019, before it broke out above 1,500 by 2020.
While other metals increased in price, the price of platinum steadily decreased from aroune 1,500 dollars by 2013 to close around 1,000 by 2021. Platinum is the only metal that closed below its average price of 2013.
