Overall what stands out from the graph is that while consumption of chicken grew over the period questionally, and that of fish consumption remained constant, the number of beef and lamb consumption fell sharply.
With regards to chicken and lamb, the starting figures were roughly identical, constituting 149 and 150 grams per person per week respectively. However, whereas the former climbed to reach 250 grams per week in 2004,the latter declined dramatically to 50 grams per week in 2004.
On the other hand the use of fish and beef, the latter started figures was 210 grams per week and peaked 230 grams per week in 1984 and then slipped to half this figure in 2004.However,fish consumption fell slightly between 1979 and 1984 most of the time it remain constant.
