The graph illustrates data about the amount of meat, fish, beef and chicken which was consumed by European countries over a period of twenty five years.
Overall, It is obviously seen that the consumption of meat and fish decreased over the course of twenty five year of from 1979 to 2004, except the chicken.
With regards to the amount of beef used, it began at around 220 grams per person per week and then peaked at 240 grams in 1984.However, it decreased dramatically in 1990 to almost 160 grams.Then, it witnessed a slighlty increase while the beef consumption decreased until 2004.Similarly, the lamb consumption experienced a gradual decrease from 150 to almost 110 grams and increased slightly by 40 grams between 1980 and 1988.But, it fell considerably from 140 grams to 60 grams.
By contrast, the consumption of fish which was 60 grams at the beggining of the period remained stable the whole of period between 1979 and 2004.Likewise, having remained at aproximatelly 140 grams, in the first half of the decade, the rate rose sharply, reaching nearly 170 grams in 1983.Then, there was a significant rise from 140 grams to 240 grams
