The line graph illustrates the number of shops that stopped working and the number of new shops that began selling in one region from 2011 and 2018.
Overall, the number of shop closures and openings declined dramatically. It can be seen that the number of closures peaked the highest point, while opened markets had the minimum number.
In 2011, openings stood at approximately 8,500, while closures began the number approximately at 6,500. However, there was a sharp decline in the number of opened shops from 8,500 in 2011 to 4000 in 2012. Meanwhile, between 2011 and 2012 saw a slight decrease in the number of closed markets. After that, both openings and closures started experiencing an increase between 2012 and 2014, and they almost stood at the same spot (6,500).
While the number of closures declined dramatically to lower than 1000 in 2015, opened markets decreased slightly to 4000 in 2015. Between 2016 and 2018, the number of closed shops remained unchanged approximately at 5100. After the number of openings had stood at the same level, then it decreased insignificantly to 3000 in 2018.
