Overall, the number of shop closures and openings from both categories decreased significantly throughout the given period. Despite more shops were opened than closed initially, the total amount of new ones was surpassed by those that were shut down.
The total number of new shops in 2011 was approximately 8500. This figure witnessed a sharp decrease and went through out the plateau of 4000 in 2012. After that fall it experienced stable growth for 2 years from slightly under 4000 in 2012, to a bit over than 6100 in 2014. Then it faced a fall to the previous number of roughly 4000 in 2015 and remained almost stable for the next 2 years. later it reached the lowest point of a little higher than 3000 in 2018.
Overall the quantity of closures in 2011 was almost 6300. During the period of 2011 to 2013 it increased and hit the highest point of approximately 7100. Then it showed a downward tendency and fell to almost 6500 in 2014 before experiencing a huge drop to a less than 800 in 2015. After drop it soared up to a total amount of the around 5100 closures in 2016 and then faced some fluctuation but remained almost same in 2018 as it was in 2016.
