The line graph illustrates the number of travelers to a specific destination from 2010 to 2017.
Overall, the total number of visitors has increased noticeably throughout the given period. Despite the majority initially staying on the island, this trend was surpassed by those arriving on cruise ships in the last two years.
The total number of travelers to the island was 1 million in 2010. This figure increased exponentially to approximately 2.75 million by the end of 2014. Between 2015 and 2016, the number of visitors remained constant. The following year saw an incredible jump to 3.5 million visitors.
The number of travelers on cruise ships increased, while the number of travelers staying on the island remained stable from 2010 to 2011. Interestingly, during the 2011 to 2013 period, the situation changed; the number of people on the island approximately doubled, while the number of people on cruise ships fluctuated but remained the same as the beginning of 2011 by the end of 2012. Starting in 2012, the number of travelers staying on cruise ships escalated to 3.5 million by 2017. Although the number of people staying on the island remained the same during 2013 to 2015, the last two years were turbulent, culminating with 1.5 million visitors as shown on our line graph.
