The line graph illustrates Australia’s proportion of exports with four different countries, namely Japan, the US, China, and India, between 1990 and 2012.
Overall, Australia made China its biggest exporting country. However, India takes up the smallest percentage of Australia’s exports.
Japan and the US experienced a downward trend. In 1990, the percentage of exports was at around 25% and approximately 10% in both countries, respectively. Five years later in 1995, the amount of exports continued to decline down to 20% and about 8%. While Japan was decreasing steadily, exports to the US once again climbed to around 10% in 2000. The declining trend remained the same for Japan until 2012. But, in terms of the US, it had some fluctuations until it reached about 7% in 2012.
In stark contrast, China’s proportion was rising nonstop until 2012. It was initially well below 5% but managed to go up to its peak of 30% in 2012.
India, on the other hand, was experiencing a rise during the first two decades. Then, the amount of exports plunged to 5%
